Career & Goals

I am enjoying the career I have but next I would like to run my own business independently or as a partnership full time. I would really enjoy doing so in a different state than Ohio. Preferably in Washington but with that being said it will depend on other factors in life as well. Self-employed teaching a childbirth education curriculum, encapsulating placentas, and providing labor doula services. I’d really love to add birth photos in addition to the other services as an option. Services would vary from a client to client needs. A scheduled week/month but on call schedule with working with labor clients. Working as a certified labor doula, certified postpartum placenta specialist, certified childbirth educator. It is important that when working with clients you know how to work and assist in most scenarios and meet the needs of each client.

VIA Institute Reflection

After completing the VIA Adult Survey, I was able to see my top 24 strengths. Overall, I feel like these strengths will help support me in my future. Starting with (1) honesty and (24) bravery. My top five strengths are; honesty, kindness, love, spirituality, and love of learning. I feel like especially when it comes to these five, it expresses the strength I have to get through anything that I put my mind to. Being aware of the strengths that you hold are important because it can let you know what you might need to work on or what strength to use to get through something that might be challenging. When you break these top five into categories they are; courage, humanity, transcendence, and wisdom. These strengths will help support me in my future goals of continuing to work my Doula LLC and becoming a Midwife. I have a passion for learning and that shows in my top five strengths.
